We can't wait to welcome our students back to school next Friday, August 11th! We are gearing up for what we know is sure to be an amazing, action-packed 2023-2024 school year.
New and returning Madison Families may find a "Madison 23-24 Back to School Breakdown" answering commonly-asked questions and outlining important back to school processes/procedures HERE.
A few highlights from the Back to School Breakdown:

Madison Back to School Night is next Thursday, August 10th from 4-5 p.m. (meet your child's teacher, visit classroom, drop off school supplies)
You MUST have a car tag to pick up your student at parent pick up for safety reasons (it's how we know people picking up students are authorized to take that child home). Car tags are available at the Madison front office from 8:30-4:00 this week and next week if you want to beat the rush at "Back to School Night"
We encourage all students to be at school in time for our morning bell (9:55 a.m. on Mondays and 9:05 a.m. on Tuesday-Friday) to ensure a strong start to their day; however, students aren't counted as "tardy" until our official bell rings at 10:10 a.m. (Mondays) and 9:20 a.m. (Tuesday-Friday). Please note, for those who are new to Warsaw Community Schools, each Monday is a 50 minute delayed start

(1) Be Kind, Work Hard - Last year, as part of WCS’s “Year of Kindness,” Madison was laser-focused on celebrating student kindness and making sure students know it’s #CooltobeKind. We kicked off our "Cardinal Kindness Coupon" Initiative, which we are excited to continue into the 2023-2024 school year. When a student earns a "Cardinal Kindness Coupon" for being caught in the act of being kind, the student places their coupon in a grade-level bucket in the cafeteria. Students' names are drawn each week, and students who are chosen are called out of class to participate in a special opportunity with Mrs. Hoffmann on Monday afternoons. Last year, we are so proud that Madison students earned over 2,500 Cardinal Kindness Coupons for showing kindness to others.
For the 2023-2024 school year, we are expanding our initiative to also recognize students who "work hard!" For the 2023-2024 school year, students can earn "Cardinal Kindness Coupons" for being caught being kind to others (teachers, students, and staff) and "Cardinal Work Hard Coupons" for being caught working extra hard at something that's challenging or doesn't come easy. #BeKindWorkHard
(2) Madison Calendar - Our 2023-2024 Madison Family Calendar (a live Google document that will be updated throughout the year to add field trips, etc.) is available HERE.
(3) Parent Square - Make sure you have signed up for Parent Square, WCS's new communication platform, Head to www.parentsquare.com and sign up with the email you provided during your Powerschool registration. It's quick and easy! If you have an issue, you may complete this Parent Square troubleshoot form for assistance.
