Lakeview celebrated student achievement with a week-long spirit week. On Friday, the theme was "80 years from now" ...so students and staff got creative! #wcsmission #lakeviewrocks #lakeviewfamily

Did you know that Lakeview has a free clothing closet that any student can access? We have outgrown our current space and we are relocating to a new space near the cafeteria. We are accepting donations of new clothing items and cash donations to help us respond to all requests. ISO new underwear, new socks, hygiene items, and summer clothes.

Lakeview is partnering with the POLYWOOD Milk Jug Recycling Program Month of April. Please help us promote our efforts so that our school reaches the goal of collecting 1,000 milk jugs. If Lakeview can collect 1,000 milk jugs, we'll get a fantastic bench for our courtyard and we'll all impact future generations. #recycle #milkjugs #wcsmission #community #togetherwecanachieve

"EXPERTS" step up on topics and processes that they have mastered to help their peers. Creating a culture of EXPERTS is one way for ALL students to learn at high levels; it builds confidence and community. #wcsmission #lakeviewmath #lakeviewexperts #lakeviewculture
P.S. Happy Pi Day :-)

Congratulations to the Advanced Band on their GOLD Rating at contest this past Saturday. . Because the band achieved fantastic scores, they were awarded the highly prestigious “With Distinction” medallion to be added on their plaque.

Mrs. Keffaber's students do a variety of projects at Lakeview Middle School. The school offers a variety of classes including Art Basics, 2D Art, 3D Art, Art in Motion, and Advanced Art.
This is a showcase of just a few of the projects done in her classes. Kudos to the students!

All afterschool activities have been cancelled for today 3/3/23.

Lakeview students are learning about PLAGIARISM (taking someone else's work without giving credit). Mrs. Scroggs, Media Services Coordinator, demonstrated how to access tools to cite images. From destiny.warsaw.k12.in.us, students can use the free database Britannica ImageQuest to find the image for their paper, project, or assignment then click on "cite" to include a citation and give credit - thereby avoiding the dreaded plagiarism. With practice at Lakeview, this habit will serve students well when they transition to WCHS and is critically important when they graduate and go on to university and careers beyond K-12. #wcsmission #libraryskillbuilding

Current and future Lakeview students, here is a unique course option for you to consider!
In Mr. Weaver's PLTW Design & Modeling course, students learn how to use modeling software, 3D printers, and other engineering tools to solve problems including ID tags and skimmer cars. If they have spare time, their creations are limited only by their imaginations. The pictured students created spinning top toys, post-it dispensers, Harry Potter wands, jewelry and pencil holders, a game-controller stand, and a mug. Soon, they'll start designing and prototyping the popular wooden puzzle block challenge!
PLTW Design & Modeling is a nine-week elective available to 7th and 8th graders, where students learn how to ask questions, generate strong ideas, communicate through sketching, and build and test their prototypes. If your child might be interested in this course, be sure to add it to the course-selection sheet! Mr. Weaver is glad to answer any questions at jweaver@warsawschools.org
