Warsaw FFA attends the 92th Indiana FFA State Convention at the Indiana State Fairgrounds

INDIANAPOLIS- The 92th Indiana State FFA Convention was held on Tuesday, June 15 through Thursday, June 17 in the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. The Warsaw FFA Chapter had members competing in a variety of numerous contests and being recognized for their outstanding performance in different contests. In total, there were over 1,600 members, guests, and advisors in attendance from across the state of Indiana.
On Tuesday, June 15, the members of the Warsaw FFA Chapter competed in a variety of Leadership Development Events (LDEs) to showcase their hard work. The Warsaw FFA Chapter was successful in competing at state this year; Ella Jarrett, placed within the top 12 with her Discovery Degree Food Science Demonstration; Alyssa Swanson placed within the top 12 with her Agriculture Mechanics Demonstration; Reese Rowland and committee, ranked top 12 in the state for Scrapbook; and Cadence Gibson and Lillian Haywood placed 3rd for Multimedia Scrapbook.
The placings for the state proficiency finalists were announced on Wednesday, June 16. The Warsaw FFA Chapter has two members recognized for their members who worked hard for their successes in their proficiency areas: Breanna Thompson— 2nd place in Diversified Horticulture; and Brittany Duncan — 4th place in Fiber &/or Oil Crop.
On Wednesday, June 16, three members received their Hoosier Degree, which is a prestigious award for members who work hard and dedication for their chapter and their Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE). These members recognized were: Brittany Duncan, Cadence Gibson, and Anthony Taylor.
Warsaw FFA members that received the Indiana FFA License Plate Scholarship were Haley Archer and Brittany Duncan. Indiana FFA also paid tribute to former Indiana FFA Executive Director & former Warsaw FFA Advisor- Mr. Rob Hays.
The Warsaw FFA Chapter was also rated as a Superior Chapter and ranked as a Gold Emblem Chapter. Warsaw FFA was recognized as a Gold Emblem Donor to the Indiana FFA Foundation.
The members of the Warsaw FFA Chapter got to enjoy and experience great leadership opportunities throughout the week. The theme of this year’s FFA State Convention was “Embrace”.
