On Thursday, December 8th, 2022, students at Warsaw Community High School raised $500 for Combined Community Services (CCS).
Class of 2023 Student Council members put together an event where students could pay $2 to skip their Enrichment/SRT and head down to the TRAC to play spike ball, cornhole, badminton, and basketball. There were holiday movies and music playing.
Students were offered hot chocolate and could decorate gingerbread cookies.
Mr. Randy Polston, Executive Director of CCS, said that the donation makes a huge difference. With inflation on the rise, more and more families are using the CCS food pantry. He said the number of families using their services has almost doubled in the last month and the donation will help buy more food for the pantry to help feed families in Kosciusko County.
Special thanks to Hallie Bledsoe, Class of 2023, for taking the idea from her peers and creating the event, and to the administration team for their support through the planning and implementation process.
