Envirothon Competition

Warsaw Community High School students delivered an outstanding performance at the Northeast Indiana Envirothon regional competition on Thursday, February 27.

Leading the way with perfect scores in both Wildlife and Aquatic Ecology, along with an impressive overall score of 92/100, was the first-place team of seniors Sydney Clark and Evan Hand, junior Titiksha Gorhe and sophomores Kevin Gough and Sean Smith.

Earning second place was an all-freshman team featuring Medha Aluru, Jocelyn Baldridge, Hannah Grossman, Diya Patel and Annie Paton. Rounding out the podium in third place were seniors Natalie Boley, Mattix Garrett, and Griffin Roe, junior Margot Sprankle and freshman Cole Parrott.

The Envirothon is an academic competition where teams of five collaborate to answer questions in Aquatic Ecology, Forestry, Soils & Land Use, Wildlife and a designated Current Issue. This year’s Current Issue was Roots & Resiliency: Fostering Forest Stewardship in a Canopy of Change. The top two teams from each regional event advance to the state competition, which will take place in April.

A special thank you to the Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District for sponsoring the WCHS teams!
