Plant & Soil Science with Mrs. Bartman recently completed a soil profile project! The project was for them to create a 3D model of a soil profile using any objects they wanted! They had to make sure they showed the five different layers that we discussed in class (O, A, B, C, R) and labeled them on the project. Some students decided to even use food items to show the layers!

Warsaw FFA Competes in Section 1 Chapter Meeting LDE Competition The Warsaw FFA chapter recently competed in the Section 1 Chapter Meeting Leadership Development Event on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Triton HS. The Warsaw FFA Senior Chapter Meeting team had to demonstrate the correct procedures of a chapter meeting, including opening ceremonies, order of business, and closing ceremonies. A few of the skills required in this event include knowledge of parliamentary law and use of parliamentary procedure to conduct an orderly and efficient meeting and present logical, realistic, and convincing discussions on the topics presented. For their effort, the Warsaw FFA Senior Chapter Meeting team earned third place in Section 1. Members on the team include Breanna Thompson, Lilly Haywood, Alyssa Swanson, Brittany Duncan, Reese Rowland, Anthony Taylor, Harrison Stofer, Thomas Boggs, and Rylan Cooper. FFA members placing 1st will move on to the state level Indiana FFA Proficiency Grading in March to compete against other FFA members from across Indiana. Here is a little more information about Proficiencies: Proficiency areas recognize FFA members for their advancement and expertise in their Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) programs. With a wide range of placement and ownership categories, these work experience areas serve to develop skills in our members that can only be learned through "hands on" efforts outside the classroom. Indiana FFA serves as an economic development engine by promoting career skills in its members.

Mrs. Lancaster's Adult Roles classes recently welcomed Sgt Daniel Wagoner and Sgt. Oliveria from the US Army in to explain the options of serving our country right out of high school as well as the financial and educational advantages that are available in the military.

Representatives from the Career Center gratefully accept an equipment donation for the Fire Rescue program from Burket Fire Department.

Introduction to Agriculture with Mrs. Bartman just finished their Ecosystems Project! Each group picked an ecosystem to complete research on. They had to design a poster & then make a diagram showing what their ecosystem would look like! Great job, students!

Students in Mrs. Campbell’s Sports Nutrition class tracked their food intake for five consecutive days. Using their food intake data, students calculated and measured the total amount of sodium, sugar, and fat they consumed in one single day. The bags of sodium, sugar, and fat (cotton balls) visually represent their calculations.

In Mr. Riley's Agribusiness Management class (dual college credit), students are being the process to understand financial investing and diving into topics such as Startups, IPOs, and the role the economy plays in the marketplace. Students will ring the bell on this section with an investment game to see who can choose the best investments.

Mrs. Love's Principles of Biomedical Sciences students have been identifying bacteria from patient cultures that they isolated on agar plate.
